bio
Madison Blaire Turner is a trial attorney at Heartland Law, where she represents clients in divorce, custody, domestic-violence-related civil matters, and personal injury cases. Known for her tenacity in the courtroom and her deep empathy for those she represents, Madison is especially passionate about advocating for women and children during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Her practice blends sharp litigation strategy with trauma-informed client advocacy, ensuring every client feels heard, protected, and powerfully represented.
Madison’s commitment to justice began long before she ever stepped into a courtroom. As an honors student at the University of Georgia, she double-majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice and served in Student Government. She co-founded the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) group and brought the national Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign to campus, growing it into a major annual event that engaged hundreds of students and community members in sexual-violence prevention and bystander awareness.
Madison began her legal education at the University of Mississippi School of Law on a Dean’s merit scholarship, earning top academic honors for achieving the highest grades in Legislation and Legal Research & Writing II. She later transferred to Florida State University College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2019 and went on to complete a Business Law LL.M., graduating cum laude in 2021. She also served as a College of Law Student Ambassador, studied abroad at Oxford, clerked for a United States Magistrate Judge, and gained federal litigation experience with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security during law school.
Before joining Heartland Law, Madison served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Burleigh County, North Dakota, where she handled more than 1,300 court hearings and six jury trials. She also secured a unanimous North Dakota Supreme Court reversal of a district court ruling in State v. LaFromboise. She continues to serve the public as a Special Assistant State’s Attorney for Oliver County, maintaining her commitment to public safety and victim protection.
In addition to her courtroom work, Madison brings a strong business and negotiation background to her practice. She previously served as an Account Executive at Vector Solutions, generating more than $2.8 million in enterprise pipeline serving law-enforcement agencies across a six-state territory, and as Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Quottly, where she built multi-million-dollar state-level partnerships with senior government and university leaders. These experiences sharpened her ability to negotiate, persuade, and advocate at the highest levels — skills she now brings into every case she handles.
After spending much of her life and early legal career in the South, Madison is proud to practice in North Dakota, where women serve prominently on the bench and in leadership throughout the legal community. She is grateful to work in a district where female attorneys are not the exception, but the norm — and is also (almost) equally thankful to have traded heat and hurricanes for North Dakota winters.
Outside the courtroom, Madison is known for her dedication to community, her love of advocacy work, and her unwavering belief that strong legal representation can change the trajectory of a person’s life. At Heartland Law, she brings that belief into every case she takes — fighting relentlessly, compassionately, and strategically for the people who need it most.
